Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026 · Effective: June 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ivy Relations Assistant (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. The App is provided by Umut Demirci, operating as Soulware (“Soulware”). If you have any questions, contact us at hello@soulware.app.
1. The short version
- Ivy helps you remember and nurture your personal relationships. The information you add (people, dates, notes, goals) is stored on your device.
- The App does not require an account or sign-in.
- To provide certain features, limited information is sent to trusted third parties: a third-party AI provider (to generate suggestions) and an analytics/crash-reporting service (to keep the App reliable).
- You can use the device Contacts import only if you grant permission. We never access your Contacts without it.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
- You can delete your data at any time inside the App, and deleting the App removes the data stored on your device.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
The App lets you create entries about the people in your life and your relationship goals. This may include names, nicknames, dates (such as birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones), notes, reminders, and goals you set. You choose what to enter, and this information is stored on your device.
Contacts (only with your permission)
If you choose to import someone from your device’s address book, the App will ask for permission to access your Contacts. We use this only to let you add the people you select. We do not upload or copy your entire address book, and access stops if you decline or revoke the permission in your device settings.
Content you submit to AI features
When you ask the App to suggest a message, gift, or plan, the relevant text you provide (for example, the context of the relationship or occasion) is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. See “How the AI features work” below.
Purchases and subscriptions
Ivy offers a free tier and optional paid upgrades. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status, but we do not receive or store your payment-card details — Apple handles payment under its own terms.
Usage and diagnostic data
To keep the App reliable and improve it, we use analytics and crash-reporting tools that collect limited technical information such as app version, device model and operating-system version, general usage events (for example, which features are used), and crash logs. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, we do not sell your information, and we do not use your relationship data to serve advertising.
3. How we use information
- To provide the App’s core features — your timeline, reminders, goals, and notifications.
- To generate AI-powered message, gift, and planning suggestions when you request them.
- To process and manage your subscription status.
- To keep the App secure, fix bugs, understand which features are useful, and improve performance.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Where your data is stored
The personal entries you create (people, dates, notes, goals) are stored locally on your device. We do not operate accounts or a central database that holds your relationship data. Certain information is transmitted to the third-party service providers described below in order to deliver specific features (AI suggestions and analytics/crash reporting). If a future version of the App adds optional cloud sync, this policy will be updated before that feature is released.
5. When we share information
We share information only with the service providers we rely on to run the App, and only as needed. We do not sell your personal information. Our service providers may include:
- AI provider — processes the text you submit to generate suggestions.
- Analytics & crash reporting — receives limited diagnostic and usage data to help us keep the App stable.
- Apple — processes purchases/subscriptions and delivers push notifications.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
6. How the AI features work
When you request a suggestion, the text needed to fulfil your request is sent over a secure connection to a third-party AI provider, which returns a generated response. We send only what is needed for the feature. We do not instruct the provider to use your content to train their models, and such content is handled subject to the provider’s terms and data-protection commitments. AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate or imperfect — you decide what to do with them.
7. App permissions
- Contacts — requested only if you choose to import people from your address book.
- Notifications — requested so the App can send the reminders you set up.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your on-device data remains until you delete it. You can delete individual people, dates, notes, and goals inside the App, and deleting the App removes the data stored on your device. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained for a limited period in aggregate form. To ask us about data we may hold, email hello@soulware.app.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use, to object to certain processing, and to data portability.
- EEA / UK (GDPR): you may exercise the rights above and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Because most data stays on your device, you control much of it directly within the App.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To make a request, contact hello@soulware.app. We may need to verify your request.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure connections for data sent to our service providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International data transfers
Our service providers (such as the AI and analytics providers) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Tracking
We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising purposes, and we do not use an advertising identifier for that purpose.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
