Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026 · Effective: July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Uplift (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. The App is provided by Umut Demirci, operating as Soulware (“Soulware”). If you have any questions, contact us at hello@soulware.app.
1. The short version
- Uplift is a personal AI motivation coach. The goals, check-ins, notes, and progress you create are stored on your device.
- The App does not require an account or sign-in.
- To provide coaching, the messages you send and the goal context you share are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the coach’s replies. If you start a voice call, your microphone audio is streamed to a voice AI provider (ElevenLabs) to power the spoken conversation.
- We use analytics and crash-reporting services (Mixpanel and Sentry) to keep the App reliable and understand which features help.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
- You can delete your data at any time inside the App, and deleting the App removes the data stored on your device.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
The App lets you set goals and focus areas, log progress and wins, and chat with your coach. This may include the goals you choose, the messages you write, check-in responses, and progress you record. You choose what to enter, and this information is stored on your device.
Voice conversations (microphone)
If you start a voice coaching session, the App uses your microphone and streams your audio to our voice AI provider (ElevenLabs) so the coach can hear you and respond in real time. The microphone is used only during an active call. We do not record and store your voice conversations on our own servers.
Content you submit to AI features
When you chat with the coach, the text needed to answer — your messages and relevant goal context — is sent over a secure connection to our backend and on to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. See “How the AI features work” below.
Purchases and subscriptions
Uplift offers a free experience and optional paid subscriptions (weekly, monthly, and yearly). Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and subscription status may be managed with the help of RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status, but we do not receive or store your payment-card details — Apple handles payment under its own terms.
Usage and diagnostic data
To keep the App reliable and improve it, we use analytics and crash-reporting tools — Mixpanel (usage events, such as which features are used) and Sentry (crash and error logs) — that collect limited technical information such as app version, device model, operating-system version, and general usage events. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
What we do not collect
We do not access your Contacts, we do not collect your precise location, we do not sell your information, and we do not use your data to serve advertising.
3. How we use information
- To provide the App’s core features — your coach chat, voice coaching, goals, momentum, reminders, and notifications.
- To generate the coach’s replies and spoken responses when you chat or call.
- To process and manage your subscription status.
- To keep the App secure, fix bugs, understand which features are useful, and improve performance.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Where your data is stored
The goals, check-ins, notes, progress, and conversation history you create are stored locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts or a central database that holds your personal coaching content. Certain information is transmitted to the third-party service providers described below in order to deliver specific features (AI coaching, voice, purchases, and analytics/crash reporting). If a future version of the App adds optional cloud sync or accounts, this policy will be updated before that feature is released.
5. When we share information
We share information only with the service providers we rely on to run the App, and only as needed. We do not sell your personal information. Our service providers include:
- Anthropic — processes the text you submit to generate the coach’s replies.
- ElevenLabs — processes your microphone audio during a voice call to power the spoken conversation.
- Cloudflare — hosts our lightweight backend that routes requests to the AI providers.
- Mixpanel and Sentry — receive limited diagnostic and usage data to help us keep the App stable and useful.
- RevenueCat and Apple — process and manage purchases/subscriptions and deliver notifications.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
6. How the AI features work
When you chat or call, the content needed to fulfil your request is sent over a secure connection to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic for text, ElevenLabs for voice), which returns a generated response. We send only what is needed for the feature. We do not instruct these providers to use your content to train their models, and such content is handled subject to each provider’s terms and data-protection commitments. The coach’s suggestions are for motivation and encouragement only — they may be inaccurate or imperfect, and they are not professional, medical, or mental-health advice.
7. App permissions
- Microphone — requested when you start a voice coaching session, used only during the call.
- Notifications — requested so the App can send the nudges and scheduled motivation calls you set up.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your on-device data remains until you delete it. You can delete your goals, check-ins, and history inside the App, and deleting the App removes the data stored on your device. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained for a limited period in aggregate form. Content sent to our AI providers is handled under their terms. To ask us about data we may hold, email hello@soulware.app.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use, to object to certain processing, and to data portability.
- EEA / UK (GDPR): you may exercise the rights above and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Because most data stays on your device, you control much of it directly within the App.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To make a request, contact hello@soulware.app. We may need to verify your request.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure connections for data sent to our service providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International data transfers
Our service providers (such as the AI, analytics, and hosting providers) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Tracking
We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising purposes, and we do not use an advertising identifier for that purpose.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
